The Weekly Sheet has this week’s Readings and News on it

Our New Rose Queen has been Crowned

Following the cancelation of the Fete, we held the Rose Queen Crowning at St Mary’s on Sunday 26 June.
Emily took over from Charlotte who had been Rose Queen since 2019. Charlotte was joined by her attendant, Lucia, and Emily was joined by her attendants, Poppy and Robyn.
We wish Emily and her attendants well for this year and hope they have a great time – her charity this year will be for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. If you spot her at events please do support her.

Recent fundraising events

The Jubilee party raised £157 plus £52 for name the teddy. We have also received £100 grant from Cheshire East.  The fête stall held in the Hall on Sunday raised £244.25 so far. This includes money received prior for raffle tickets and produce orders. A fantastic amount. Thanks to everyone.

Ladies Afternoon Group

The LAG were treated to a wonderful afternoon of singing and poetry from the Wells Green singers last Thursday. Their repertoire was varied, and we were able to join in with the pieces that we knew. It was a joyous and uplifting session. Our next outing is to Llandudno on 20th July. We then have a break until 22nd September.
We look forward to seeing you all in the Autumn. Ann and Frances.

Everyday Faith

Last call for…
Everyday Faith: Wed 14 September 2022 at 7:15pm at Elworth Church Hall
 – Christians are called to follow Jesus each day, wherever we are – in our homes, workplaces and neighbourhoods, as well as in church. We are invited to send a group of four/five people to find out more. If you are interested, please speak to Revd Mike asap so he can book places. See bit.ly/stmedf for more info

Rev Paul’s new position and final Sunday with us

Rev Paul has been appointed as the new Incumbent of parishes of St Peter’s Leighton cum Minshull Vernon and St Leonard’s Warmingham. Paul’s last Sunday will be 24 July. Our prayers and best wishes are with Paul, Jan, Lois & William at this time. If you’d like to donate towards a leaving gift for Paul either give a cash donation to the Wardens or a bank transfer to the church account with the ref “Paul”.

We will be having a lunch for Paul on Sunday 24 July in the Church Hall following the service at St Mary’s as we give thanks for his ministry with us. All welcome. Please sign up on the list in the porch or call/email the Church Office.
