John & Bert’s Funerals

We continue to mourn the death of two longstanding members of our congregation: Bert Spencer and John Roberts. We give thanks for their lives, their friendship and the memories they leave with us. Please keep their families in your prayers.
John’s funeral is on Monday 28 November, 12 noon at St Mary’s.
Bert’s funeral is on Monday 5 December, 1pm at St Mary’s.


Advent Study Group

Revd Mike is planning to run an Advent Study Group on Mondays 28 November, 5, 12 & 19 December. 7:30pm-9pm at the Rectory. Please let Mike know if you’re interested. revd.mike@stmaryswistaston.org.uk – 01270 665742


Shoebox Appeal

Many thanks to all who donated Christmas Shoeboxes this year for the Teams4U Shoebox appeal. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to drop 25 boxes to St Mary’s Nantwich ready for collection. We also had another 6, that we know about, donated online. These boxes of love will make a big difference to a child’s life this Christmas.

Christmas Cake Decorating Demonstration by Elaine Turner

Join us on Saturday 19th November at 3pm in the Church Hall.  Seasonal refreshments & raffle.  Donations towards the Church Heating.  See Elaine or Sarah Turnbull for info.


Christmas produce, jams and pickles 

On sale over coffee on 4 December in the Church Hall
Mike and Chris Horne again will be selling their wonderful Preserves, Pickles and Christmas puddings and Hyacinths pots (Pots available from the 12 December). Many thanks from all of us to those who currently clean St Mary’s each week (and St Luke’s!). At St Mary’s we are looking to expand the rota and are looking for volunteers – please add your name to the rota in the porch or email Mike on revd.mike@stmaryswistaston.org.uk


LAG Carol Service – Our Carol service is on Thursday 15th December at 2pm in St Mary’s followed by tea/ coffee and biscuits in the church hall. Looking forward to seeing you all. More details to follow


St Mary’s Heating – update

We have now submitted a Faculty to the Diocese and we await the guidance and (hopefully) permission from the Diocesan Advisory Committee to proceed to fit a new gas boiler. However, it may still be weeks yet. Please dress warmly until resolved. Revd Mike & the Wardens.


Ladies Afternoon Tea

The numbers attending Nantwich Tea Lounge have now been confirmed.  We are a group of 18.  Three people have requested a gluten free meal but if anyone else has a special diet requirement please let me know.  The venue have asked for a £5.00 deposit from everyone and it would be appreciated if you could give this to Joy at your earliest convenience.  I am so looking forward to spending time together over delicious food.


Wells Green Methodist Church Cafe

Open every Friday, 10.30am to 1.30pm, for refreshments, soup and a roll (donations).  Run by friendly volunteers – come along for a chat and hot soup to keep warm.


Foodbank Update & Harvest Thanks
