Bert Spencer’s Funerals

Bert’s funeral is this Monday 5 December, 1pm at St Mary’s.


St Mary’s Heating – installation is taking place!!

St Mary’s Heating. The installation of the new boiler was brought forward to Friday 2 December and should be finished on Sunday 4 December. Due to the completion of the work, we will be meeting in the Church Hall for worship this Sunday 4 December. Revd Mike & the Wardens.


Advent Study Group

Advent Study Group continues this Monday 5 Dec, then 12 & 19. 7:30pm-9pm at the Rectory. All welcome, even if you were not able to be there last week, each week stands alone.

This Sunday: Toy Service at St Mary’s on 4 December

The Salvation Army would like new unwrapped toys and gifts for ages 0 to 16. All toys and gifts will be given to local families in need this Christmas. Please bring toys to church on 4 December.

If you can help take the toys to the Salvation Army in Crewe next week please see the Wardens or Revd Mike.


Rose Queen Event this Sunday

Emily our Rose Queen plans to have a cake and craft stall following the morning service on Sunday, 4th December. Please come and support. 


Advent Lunch this Wednesday

Advent Lunch this week in the Church Hall
Wednesday 7th December 11.30am onwards, There will be a warming Stew. All Welcome and proceeds to St Mary`s Church fund s £4.50 per person. 


Decorating St Mary’s for Christmas

Di Carter would like help on two occasions for decorating St Mary’s for Christmas.

Saturday 10 December at 10am for Preparations
Friday 16 December at 10am for decorating St Mary’s


Christingle help needed

Can you help at the Uniformed Organisations Christingle next Sunday at 6pm? Revd Mike is looking for a couple of people to help on the night. Please see Mike or email him at revd.mike@stmaryswistaston.org.uk if you can help.


Free books in the Choir Vestry!

We have books in the Choir Vestry of all different types, Bibles, Theology Books, general Christian titles and reference books. We’d like them to be all be gone by January. Please take what you would like and can use, we don’t want them back! Any books left in January will be given to good homes.


Christmas produce, jams and pickles this Sunday

On sale over coffee on 4 December in the Church Hall
Mike and Chris Horne again will be selling their wonderful Preserves, Pickles and Christmas puddings and Hyacinths pots (Pots available from the 12 December). Look out for the order forms up at Church and in the Church Hall or contact them directly on 07756575835 or at email torritone@btinternet.com


St Mary’s Cleaning

Many thanks from all of us to those who currently clean St Mary’s each week (and St Luke’s!). At St Mary’s we are looking to expand the rota and are looking for volunteers – please add your name to the rota in the porch or email Mike on revd.mike@stmaryswistaston.org.uk


LAG Carol Service – Our Carol service is on Thursday 15th December at 2pm in St Mary’s followed by tea/ coffee and biscuits in the church hall. Looking forward to seeing you all. More details to follow


Wells Green Methodist Church Cafe

Open every Friday, 10.30am to 1.30pm, for refreshments, soup and a roll (donations).  Run by friendly volunteers – come along for a chat and hot soup to keep warm.


Foodbank Update & Harvest Thanks

Please continue to help us with long-life food items to see us through the Winter months.
