A Rose Queen Update

Rose Queen Update

This coming Saturday (20 June) would have been the Wistaston Village Fete. At the Fete our outgoing and incoming Rose Queens, along with their attendants, would have given a speech and the new Rose Queen would have been crowned.
Just as the pandemic struck in March, I was beginning to think about who would be Rose Queen for 2020/21, but I never got any further than that and it was put on hold.
Last Sunday would have been ‘Rose Queen’ Sunday in church when the incoming Rose Queen would make her promise for the coming year, this made me think about what to do for 20/21. I consulted with the parents of our current Rose Queen, Charlotte, & her Attendant, Lucia, and it was enthusiastically agreed that they should continue for another year, picking up their fundraising again when they can.
I am really pleased that they will be doing this and that they can finish off their ‘year’ at the Village Fete in 2021.
Both girls have done a fantastic job up to now and I know you will give them support into this year.
They have done a ‘thank you’ and update video for you.
