Pentecost Sunday

This Sunday is the Church’s Birthday! 🎈Pentecost Sunday 🎈
We would love to see you at St Mary’s at 10:40am to celebrate with us if you can. If you are planning to come, Canon David has asked people to wear something Red if possible! I’ll let him explain that on Sunday 😀 So do come along and join in the fun!


Rose Queen News

Sunday 11 June is our Rose Queen Sunday when our outgoing Rose Queen, Emily, will tell us about the year she’s had as Rose Queen and our incoming Rose Queen, Sophie, will make her promise and let us know which charity she will be supporting in the coming year.
On the 11 June Emily will be holding a cake stall in the Church Hall following the service, please do support her.
Sophie will be crowned as our 2023/24 Rose Queen at the Wistaston Village Fete on Saturday 17 June, please do come along and support our Rose Queens at this event.


Christian Aid Week

Many thanks to all those who volunteered during Christian Aid Week. Deliverers, Collectors, Counters and of course those who gave, we raised the fantastic amount of £909.50!

Election Results from the Annual Parochial Church Meeting of 21 May 2023 

Elected as Wardens: Sue Squirrell & Chris Horne
Elected to the PCC: Howard Barker, Mike Felton & Bob Squirrell
Elected to the Deanery Synod: Howard Barker & Simon Bartholomew
Retiring from the PCC were: Joan Cadman, John Molloy & Diane Edge-Robinson
Our thanks go to all of them for their service over the past three years

A special thanks was paid to John Molloy who retired from the PCC at the APCM after serving 4 Rectors for 50 plus years! Thank you John!!


The Bible Study group

The Tuesday Bible study group will meet at 10.15am on the 6th and 20th of June. The monthly Prayer Group on Thursday 1st June at 7pm. Both groups meet at 56 Bowness Rd. All welcome. Thank you, Jenny V.

Foodbank News

Thank your continuing generous support for St Paul’s Foodbank. Shortages are: Jam, UHT milk, cereal, rice, long life puddings/cakes. Tinned items: corned beef; pork; fruit; meat meals (chilli con carne, stew); rice pudding; vegetables. Please see the leaflet with the donation/drop off points .

The Church Office will be closed Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday 30th, open as usual from 9.30-1.30pm Wednesday & Thursday and 9.30-12.30pm on Friday. Thank you.
