The Weekly Sheet has the weekly Readings and News on it

Tess Burgess

Tess Burgess’ funeral is at St Mary’s this Thursday 18 April at 2pm. Please keep her family in your prayers at this time. Revd Mike.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting: this Sunday 14 April at 12 noon

Our Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is this Sunday, 14 April, at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church followed by a Bring and Share in the Church Hall. The Agenda & Reports are available in church and online from the address below. At the APCM, we will be appointing two wardens and electing five members to the PCC. More details and the relevant forms are available at both churches and can be found at bit.ly/apcminfo

Defibrillator for St Mary’s Church

It has been asked if we could get a Defib for St Mary’s Church that would be kept at St Mary’s. The PCC agree that this would be a sensible idea, however, the cost of a Defib is prohibitive at £1000. The other two Defibs (Church Hall & St Luke’s) were free and half price (and the half price was covered by a donation) from the British Heart Foundation, we would not qualify for another one at a discount rate. If you would be interested in pledging a donation to enable us to buy one, then please let Revd Mike know. revd.mike@stmaryswistaston.org.uk

Thank You for Giving

The PCC are grateful to all those who give regularly to our churches and enable us to do what we do. As you are aware utilities and other regular bills have increased over the past few years affecting our home and church finances. If you are in a position to review your regular giving to help cover these costs at church, then we would be grateful if you gave it some consideration. If you are a UK Taxpayer, then please remember to Gift Aid your giving as this adds 25% to your donation. Ways to give are: Standing Order through your bank, Weekly Giving Envelopes, Cash/Cheque on the plate (please remember to use a white Gift Aid envelope if applicable) or the Card Machine in the porch at St Mary’s. Also, please consider a Legacy Gift in your Will if you can.
