St Mary’s and St Luke’s News & Information for 28 April 2024 – Easter 5

The Weekly Sheet has the weekly Readings and News on it

Visit to St Mary’s by Bishop Sam

On the Sunday 2 June Bishop Sam, Bishop of Stockport, will be joining us at St Mary’s at 10:40am. During his visit he will be receiving Rachael Rivers into the Communion of the Church of England. This is required before she is licensed as a Reader at Chester Cathedral on Saturday 12 October. Do come and meet Bishop Sam and support Rachael.

Defibrillator for St Mary’s Church

Thanks to people’s generosity we now have a Defibrillator (AED) at St Mary’s. It is in the Choir Vestry. It is a semi-automatic version and is designed to be as easy as possible to use. The Defib will tell you how to use it so even if you’ve never been trained you should use it if needed. Here is a handy guide of how and when to use a Defib and there is a St John’s Ambulance video that can be viewed here: bit.ly/usingadefib

Men’s Group

Men’s Group – 7.30pm Friday 7 June 2024. Please join us at the Leopard [London Road, Nantwich] for beer [non-alcoholic options are available] and afterwards we will go for an Indian or Thai meal [or we could eat in the Leopard]. Open to all men over the age of 18. Feel free to bring male family and friends. No need to RSVP – see you there! Howard

Christian Aid Week is 12–18 May

Sarah and I will be in touch with our regular collectors over the next couple of weeks to check if they can help this year, if you’d like to know more and how you can help, please speak to Sarah or Mike Turnbull.
