St Mary’s and St Luke’s News & Information for 30 July 2023 – Trinity 8

The Weekly Sheet has this week’s Readings and News on it

Austin Grand

Austin Grand’s funeral is at St Mary’s this Tuesday 1 August at 1:45pm. Please keep the family in your prayers at this time. Revd Mike.

A return to offering the Chalice at Communion

At the last PCC it was decided that we would return to offering the Chalice at Communion from September. It was also acknowledged that some people may prefer to keep to ‘Priest intinction’, our current practice. Both will be available from September. Please note that personal intinction, dipping of the wafer, will not be allowed for hygiene reasons, only by the minister.

To help Revd Mike gauge how best to offer this, he would be grateful if you would complete the anonymous survey that will be handed out in church over the next couple of Sundays or complete it online here: https://forms.gle/xogaFyekuDTN6HEf7

If you have any queries or questions, please speak to Revd Mike.

Women’s Indian Meal

Those who have booked with Sarah please meet at the Passage to India, Nantwich Rd, Crewe on Friday 4th August at 7pm.

Ladies Afternoon Group

The LAG trip to RHS Bridgewater was an enjoyable day out. We only had one tremendous shower and managed to shelter. The gardens were superb. The Western walled gardens were a delight with an abundance of plants, trees and bushes in an array of colours and scents. The wild flowers were spectacular and the insects plentiful. The Ellesmere Lake and surrounding rocky waterfalls stunning. Many enjoyed the eateries which were available. Thank you all for making this day memorable. Looking forward to meeting in September. We wish Alice, and Tess a speedy recovery. Frances, Ann and Pam.
